PecuIQ is a manual, privacy-first net worth tracker. This policy reflects the current product, where the data you enter is stored in your private, access-controlled account and cached on your device for speed and offline use.
Who we are
PecuIQ ("PecuIQ", "we", "us") is a personal net worth tracking app operated by Howcroft's Consulting Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. For any privacy question, contact us at privacy@pecuiq.com. We are the data controller for the limited processing described below.
The short version
- You create a free PecuIQ account to use the app and sync your data across devices.
- The financial information you enter (assets, liabilities, your name, currency) is stored in your private account and protected by row-level access controls.
- We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not share it with third parties.
- You can export or delete everything at any time, from inside the app.
What we collect and where it is stored
Data you enter. Assets, liabilities, their values and categories, your display name, currency preference, and app settings. This is saved in your private PecuIQ account and may also be cached locally by your browser or app.
No bank connections. PecuIQ does not connect to your bank, broker, or any financial provider. There are no login credentials to any external account and no Open Banking access.
Analytics. With your consent, the marketing site uses Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand aggregate visits and site behaviour. Analytics is denied by default, no form values are sent, and declining keeps both tools disabled.
AI insights. In the current version, the observational insights and Wealth Levels are calculated from the figures you have entered in the app. They are illustrative and are not financial advice. If a future Pro version processes your figures through an AI service, that processing and any data sent will be disclosed here before it is enabled, and it will remain optional.
Sub-processors
To operate PecuIQ, we use a small number of trusted third-party services. They process your data only to the extent needed to provide the service and are contractually bound to keep it confidential.
- Supabase (database, authentication, and hosting). Your account data and the figures you enter are stored and secured by Supabase.
- Google (optional sign-in only). If you choose to sign in with Google, Google authenticates your identity. Google does not receive your financial data.
- SiteGround (web hosting for this marketing site). SiteGround hosts pecuiq.com; it does not process app or account data.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties for their own purposes.
Lawful basis (UK GDPR)
Where we process limited information to provide the app, our lawful basis is the performance of our agreement with you (the Terms of Service) and our legitimate interest in operating the product.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export, and erase your personal data, and to restrict or object to processing.
- Access and portability: use Export my data in the app to download your information at any time.
- Erasure: use Delete my data in the app to permanently remove your account and synced data. This cannot be undone.
- Correction: edit or remove any entry directly in the app.
You can also make these requests by contacting us, and we will respond within one month.
Retention
Account data is kept until you delete it in the app or ask us to remove it. Deleted accounts and their synced data are removed from the app database; backup retention may take longer where required for security and recovery.
Children
PecuIQ is intended for adults managing their own finances and is not directed at children under 18.
Security
Your account is protected by your password and Supabase row-level security controls, so your data is readable only by you. Data is encrypted in transit over HTTPS and protected at rest by Supabase. App-layer end-to-end encryption is on our roadmap. Keep your device locked and your browser up to date. No method of storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product develops. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or on pecuiq.com, with an updated date at the top.
